washing machines. Their signature top-loading washers cost between $300 and $500. Hotpoint products are
distributed to major retailers around the country and have some of the features of high-end washing machines, yet
only cost a fraction of the price.
Company History
In the US, the Hotpoint brand is owned by General Electric Appliances (GE). Hotpoint washers and dryers are their
"value brand." General Electric is a global company whose history dates back 1890 when Thomas Alva Edison,
inventor of the first incandescent electric lamp, brought together his various businesses under one roof and
called his new enterprise the Edison General Electric Company. Today, GE employs nearly 325,000 people.
A European Hotpoint brand also exists which is affiliated with the Indesit Company.
Hotpoint Washing Machine Features

Other features include their FlexCare™ Agitator, to create a more
gentle wash while still removing stains and dirt, and their Quiet-by-Design™ feature that produces
minimal noise while the washing machine is operating.
