"Inglis IFR 4200 a lemon"
My 24 inch Inglis front loading washing machine (model ifr4200) sprang a
leak. It was not quite six years old. I only discovered the leak
recently, but corrosion on the bottom of the machine indicates that it
had been leaking for some time. I called Whirlpool (the manufacturer)
for service. The repairman they sent took one look at the stacked washer
and dryer and told me that he would return after I had someone else move
the dryer off the washing machine. Later I received a bill for almost
$100 for this "service call," even though no service was provided.
Shoddy product, lousy service. Avoid Whirlpool.

"OMG!"
I am shocked and dismayed to find out that the IV4500 I had delivered 6 days ago doesn't work any better than the $25.00 machine I purchased from a garage sale -and I let them take the $25.00 one away! Apparently it is "normal" for the control knob to not engage properly (as in, I have to search for just the right little spot to make the machine start), the agitator speed on gentle isn't gentle at all - is the same as on other cycles. The fact that it is a very noisy machine isn't the end of the world - nowhere does profess to be quiet - but all in all, I am very disappointed in my purchase. On a good note, it looks good - and the delivery guys were exceptionally fast, polite and careful delivering my lemon. I will re-post if the repairman cures any of the ills.
