Kenmore's History
In 1927, Kenmore's first washing machine was introduced by Sears. Two years later, after Kenmore decided to tap
into the fact that most households were equipped with electricity, the first wringer washer was introduced and
widely accepted.
In 1933, Kenmore introduced an automatic wash, drain, wringer washing machine in a porcelain finish. By 1936 the
company marked the sale of its millionth laundry machine.
Kenmore continued to improve the washing machines it produces and marked its 75th anniversary in 2002. Today the
appliances are sold exclusively through Sears and Kmart.
