Speed Queen's History

A company that boasts domestic manufacturing since 1908, Speed Queen has been based out of Ripon, WI for more than 100 years. Originally under the name White Cloud by former hardware store owners, Joe Barlow and John Seelig, the brand name Speed Queen didn't come about until 1928. During World War II, Speed Queen stopped producing laundry equipment and instead manufactured war necessities, such as parts for airplanes and guns.

With both front load and top load washing machines, Speed Queen not only sells a classic white finish, but also a stainless steel finish for front-loading machines. Their ENERGY STARŪ rated line of stacked washer and dryer combinations cater to homeowners who are short on space. Their washers have a galvanized steel cabinet and extra large door openings of more than 15 inches.

Speed Queen offers a few different washer options that are ENERGY STARŪ qualified. To make this qualification, the product must use 50% less water and 70% less energy than a traditional washing machine. Using less energy means a drastic difference in energy bills. Not only is the customer saving money by purchasing an ENERGY STARŪ qualified Speed Queen, but they are helping save the environment by preventing greenhouse gas emissions.

Warranty Information

Both top-load and front-load washers have a 3-year warranty on parts and labor for the entire washing machine, a 5-year limited warranty on the washing machine motor, and a 5-year limited warranty on the cabinet. Top-loading washers also have a 10-year warranty on the transmission and a lifetime warranty on the outer drain tub and the stainless steel wash basket. Front-loading washers also carry the same lifetime warranty on the outer drain tub and stainless steel wash basket, but in addition, have a 5-year limited warranty on the bearing and seal assembly.
