Staber Washing Machines

Staber is a small Ohio-based producer of appliances, including three washing machine models. The company markets their products as energy and water efficient appliances. The company has developed and patented a washing machine tub design that differs from the standard circular tub of most washers and which they believe washes clothing more effectively than standard tubs. All of Staber's washing machines are top-loading, an unusual feature for energy-efficient washers.

Staber's History

Staber began in 1976, initially rebuilding laundry appliances made by other manufacturers. Eventually, the company designed its own appliances. In 1993, Staber started producing and selling its patented washing machines out of its factory in Groveport, Ohio.

Special Features of Staber Washing Machines

Staber washing machines have several special features that distinguish them from other washing machines. First, their tub design is a unique patented design. Both tubs rotate on a horizontal axis, although the machine loads from the top. Instead of being round, the inner stainless steel tub has six flat sides. The outer, stationary tub has eight sides. According to Staber, as the inner tub rotates, the change of shape between the tubs pumps water through the holes in the inner tub, eliminating the need for an agitator. Staber washers also have a four-strut suspension system that reduces noise and vibration. Additionally, Staber washers have an automatic water level control that determines the correct amount of water for each load.

Warranty Information

Staber's appliances are covered by three levels of warranties. There is a full one-year warranty that covers parts and labor. A limited five-year warranty covers bearing assemblies and suspension systems. A twenty-five year warranty covers steel tubs if they rust due to defective workmanship or materials.
